The IEIDEAS project in Egypt resulted in greatly increased profitability for fish farms (equivalent to around USD 16,000 in extra profit generated per farm, USD 27 million total value added by the project). Women fish retailers in Egypt are often forced to pay unofficial fees for their roadside market stalls. An interactive theatre project has helped boost the confidence and ability of these women to lobby their local government for retail licenses to protect their safety and rights as workers.
